Two of my holy grails finally in my possession. Dungen!

I don't know if people who aren't collectors will understand this post...

Dungen is one of my favourite Swedish bands and has been so for quite some time! I've collected their stuff over the years and trying to get everything the band has released. At least all the vinyls...

There have been two releases that has been hard to find.

A few years ago they recorded a single together with Jack White for his single series on Thirdman Records. He always releases two versions.

One version is a "normal" 7" on black vinyl in X number of copies. This one was easliy aqcuired when it was released.

The other version however is a 7" and released as a "tri color" version on multi coloured vinyl. This version is released in only 150 copies, and I think it is only released to subscribers or something like that. I tried to get it early on but it was very expensive immediately.

And then there is of course Dungen's debut album...

Released in 2001 on Subliminal Records in Sweden in only 500 copies. This is the record that I've been looking for the most for a long long time. It's been available a couple of times to buy, but it's very expensive and I was never able to afford it...

Now I finally had the chance to get it through a trade, which cost me another great collectors item. But I had to trade a record that have been standing on my shelf eversince I bought it, never played, so I felt quite alright to trade it. It wasn't easy though...

The single and the debut. Finally in my hands!

Dungen collection.

So the January record a day theme is still going on on Instagram (obviously...). Today the theme was an artist or group that starts with the letter "D" and I decided to post a picture of my Dungen collection.

The pyschedelic pop/rock group is one of my favourites. They've released six albums so far and there are rumours of a new album this year. Let's hope the rumours are true and for yet another masterpiece! Nothing will to "Ta Det Lugnt" though...

If anyone has the first album on vinyl or the tri-coloured single "Ögon Näsa Mun" released by Jack White, please let me know and I'll get it of your hands!

Tame Impala

"Australia's Dungen" announces the date for the follow up to the brilliant debut "Innerspeaker" from 2010.

They also have a new song for everyone to download, sounds good!

Here's the post on Modular.

Dungen

One of my favourite bands recently has been the Swedish "ny-progg" band Dungen. A few years ago I started to collect everything about the band and I have a nearly complete collection. Last week I received one record that I've been looking for for a long time.

"Samtidigt" is a 12" EP that was only on sale during a tour the band did after before the release of "4". The EP contains of only one song. The nearly 15 minute freaked out live version of the song "Samtidigt". On "4" the song is split up in two different songs ("Samtidigt 1" and "Samtidigt 2"), I guess it would have been "too much" to have a 15 minute jam on a record:)

This release was limited to 500 copies and is hand numbered and it has sold at nearly $100 recently on eBay and I was lucky to get it at $40. A real bargain, eh?

Now the only vinyl that I really miss from the collection is the first one. To get this I will have to pay at least $150 so I guess I'll have to wait a little longer to have a complete Dungen collection...
